CHALLENGE
Open Destinations (OD) is an
established, successful travel technology provider with 20 years’ real-world experience and 400+ travel tech experts solving the biggest technological issues that tour and rail operators face. With the ongoing pandemic, OD wanted to take the opportunity to reposition themselves and stand out in the increasingly crowded marketplace, targeting their richer, more complete, customer-centric solutions more clearly towards each specific segment.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE
When OD leadership team selected DMA Partners as Creative + Communications Agency they had a clear goal, - to update their brand story making sure that the full value of OD’s technology and services came across to all of their customer groups. Following that phase, the Company wanted to
re-energise and dynamise marketing communications to fuel the next
phase of growth.

OUR APPROACH
We started the project with a short but highly effective workshop with the OD management team to define their unique story and value proposition. Based on the findings we crafted a potent one-page brand story to encapsulate OD’s story to the market.
After that we provided a series of
high-impact, fast delivery ‘quick wins’ to refresh the OD website, improve sales materials and to activate social media, all based around a simple brand positioning statement: ‘We do the tech. You do the travel.’
That positioning neatly encapsulates what Open Destinations is all about, - taking care of the essential back-office tech and processes that enable tour and rail operators to fully focus on developing their travel offer and services to customers.

BUSINESS RESULTS
Since we began working with OD, the business has seen sharp increases in social media engagement and marketing and sales activity, which has already flowed through to an increased sales pipeline. As the travel industry continues to recover from the pandemic, Open Destinations is in a stronger place to compete effectively and grow.
